Job Description:
Centennial Technologies Inc. is seeking an experienced DevOps Technical Lead with a strong AWS background to support our federal clients. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in designing, developing, and implementing automated DevOps pipelines that enable secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions. This role requires both technical leadership and hands-on engineering skills to build resilient infrastructure and guide a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate the provisioning of AWS environments and build infrastructure from the ground up using Terraform.
- Design and develop automation workflows; perform unit testing and conduct code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and resiliency.
- Develop automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, scripts, and software for platform maintenance and user self-service capabilities.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of 5+ engineers on CI/CD pipeline management, automation, and best practices.
- Communicate technical solutions to stakeholders, collaborate with leadership and vendors, and solve complex business challenges.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in software development.
- 6+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps engineering with strong AWS/Cloud Operations expertise.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions) and cloud-based build/deployment pipelines.
- Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet) and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern cloud-native deployment technologies.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Python scripting) and platform engineering.
- Experience working in Enterprise/Shared Service DevOps teams.
- Preferred: Experience implementing Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) with Kratix and Argo CD.
- Preferred: Prior experience with USDA or other federal agencies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to balance responsibilities across 50% technical leadership and 50% hands-on engineering.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
Work Conditions
- Location: Hybrid – 4 days onsite in Tysons Corner, VA (preferred DC Metro candidates: VA, DC, MD).
