DGM/GM- Quality Assurance

Department - Quality Assurance

Location - Jambusar (near Vadodara), Gujarat

Designation - DGM/GM

Experience - 15 to 20 years (at least 5 years in lead role)

Essential Qualifications- Diploma/Graduate/Postgraduate – Mechanical/E&I/E&C/Packaging


Key Roles/Responsibilities:

1. Packed Ware Audit & Product Release

  • Ensure effective packed ware audits across all production lines as per defined quality plans.
  • Define, issue, and control AQL levels for packed ware inspections.
  • Decide acceptance limits and define the panoply of defects (critical, major, minor).
  • Conduct pre-dispatch inspections and exercise authority to review, approve, and release finished product batches that comply with quality specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.
  • Ensure implementation of bottle matrix requirements and functional testing as per the approved quality plan.


2. Inspection Systems & Testing

  • Ensure validation, calibration, and effective utilization of hot-end and cold-end inspection machines.
  • Oversee operation and accuracy of laboratory testing equipment for dimensional, mechanical, and functional testing.
  • Periodically review inspection effectiveness and initiate improvements as required.


3. Quality Systems & ISO Compliance

  • Act as Management Representative (MR) for ISO Quality Management Systems.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Coordinate with external agencies for certification and surveillance audits.
  • Maintain quality documentation, procedures, and compliance with applicable standards.


4. Process & Product Audits

  • Conduct process audits and product audits as per the audit schedule.
  • Compile audit reports and provide structured feedback to production teams.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.


5. Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) requirements prior to shipment.
  • Establish and maintain PDI procedures, checklists, and acceptance criteria aligned with customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Verify that finished goods meet:
  • Approved quality specifications
  • Packaging and labeling requirements
  • Quantity, palletization, and container loading standards
  • Authorize final quality clearance and release of shipments post PDI verification.
  • Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and record retention of PDI results for audits and customer review.
  • Coordinate with production, dispatch, and logistics teams to prevent shipment of non-conforming material.


6. CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with CTPAT security requirements applicable to export shipments.
  • Implement and monitor quality-related controls supporting CTPAT, including:
  • Tamper-evident packaging integrity
  • Seal verification and documentation
  • Prevention of product contamination or substitution
  • Ensure PDI activities align with CTPAT container security and inspection protocols .
  • Support CTPAT audits and assessments by providing required quality records, procedures, and evidence.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, security, and dispatch teams to address non-conformities identified during CTPAT audits .
  • Ensure training and awareness within QA teams on CTPAT requirements impacting quality, packing, and dispatch operations .
  • Maintain continuous audit readiness for customer, regulatory, ISO, and CTPAT audits.
  • Review audit findings related to PDI and CTPAT and ensure timely closure through CAPA .
  • Periodically review and strengthen PDI and export-related quality controls to mitigate risk.


7. Customer Complaint Management & CAPA

  • Lead investigation of customer complaints, including root cause analysis.
  • Finalize and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure effective implementation of CAPA on the shop floor and verify sustainability.
  • Monitor complaint trends and drive systemic improvements to prevent recurrence.


8. Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continual improvement initiatives within the QA department.
  • Reduce internal rejection, customer complaints, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
  • Support plant initiatives related to process capability, efficiency, and quality enhancement.


9. Samples, COA & Customer Support

  • Ensure timely provision of samples to the marketing department (domestic and export) as per daily requirements along with Certificates of Analysis (COA).
  • Manage dispatch of NPD samples along with COA.
  • Issue Certificates of Analysis for export customers in line with agreed specifications.


10. New Product Development, Packaging & Decoration

  • Oversee packaging design and development and ensure incoming quality control (IQC) of packaging materials for the JBR plant.
  • Manage decoration development and IQC of decoration materials for the JBR plant.
  • Ensure new developments meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.


11. Training & Competency Development and People Development

  • Provide training to QA executives, inspectors, and checkers on:
  • Defect identification and limit samples
  • Inspection techniques
  • Decision-making consistency
  • Quality systems and procedures
  • Build quality awareness and accountability across the organization.
  • Encourages a culture of learning, accountability & develops succession readiness .


12. Resorting & Re-inspection Operations

  • Ensure effectiveness of resorting operations as per approved plans.
  • Monitor day-to-day online generation and resorting results.
  • Validate resorting outcomes to ensure only conforming products are released.
