Our expanding Reproductive Urology Department is seeking a skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team on a per diem basis.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to provide specialized ultrasound examinations within our Reproductive Urology Department. This per diem role focuses on performing male fertility and urological scans, with a key emphasis on detecting and evaluating varicoceles. You will play a vital role in providing crucial diagnostic imaging that supports our reproductive urologists in treatment planning and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations of male reproductive organs, including detailed evaluation for varicoceles.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring a sterile and efficient environment.
• Position patients, explain procedures clearly and compassionately, and answer questions to ensure their comfort and understanding.
• Analyze sonographic images, identify normal and abnormal findings, and provide preliminary reports to the physician.
• Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate with physicians and other medical staff.
• Ensure all procedures adhere to the highest standards of safety, quality, and medical ethics.
• Bonus: Perform phlebotomy for laboratory testing if qualified and needed.

Qualifications

• Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), with specialization in male fertility/reproductive urology.
• Proven experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, with demonstrated expertise in male fertility and varicocele vein scanning.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and the healthcare team.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Phlebotomy certification and/or experience is a significant plus.
