Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Patient Care

• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for dialysis treatment
• Check vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) before, during, and after dialysis
• Monitor patients during treatment for discomfort or complications
• Provide basic comfort and reassurance to patients

2. Dialysis Machine Operation

• Set up dialysis machines according to prescribed treatment
• Start, monitor, and stop dialysis procedures safely
• Ensure correct blood flow rates and dialysis settings
• Respond quickly to machine alarms and technical issues

3. Vascular Access Care

• Prepare and clean access sites (fistula, graft, or catheter)
• Assist with needle insertion under proper guidelines
• Observe access sites for infection, bleeding, or swelling

4. Equipment Maintenance

• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize dialysis machines and equipment
• Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisors or biomedical staff

5. Infection Control & Safety

• Follow strict hygiene and infection-control protocols
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly
• Dispose of medical waste safely according to hospital policies

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Record treatment details accurately
• Maintain patient records and machine logs
• Report abnormal findings to nurses or doctors

7. Team Collaboration

• Work closely with nephrologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff
• Assist in emergency situations during dialysis
• Support patient education as guided by medical staff

8. Ethical & Professional Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Treat patients with respect and empathy
• Follow hospital policies and professional standards
