Dialysis Transporter Aide, CNA

The Dialysis Transporter provides safe, timely and courteous transport to and from the facilities’ dialysis center. Performs duties in accordance with the established rules, regulations, and operating standards of the facility.

$18-$21 an hour

Reporting to:

  • Directly reports to Director of Nursing.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Transport patients / residents to and from dialysis in a safe and professional manner.
  • Disinfect stretcher between patients and at end of shift
  • Ensure room readiness, including that housekeeping has carbed room, curtain is cleaned and intact, TV is working with remote and nightstand, closet in good working order, bathroom is clean, bed is made.
  • Obtain a wheelchair, O2 concentrator, etc. as required for all new admissions or transfers.
  • Communicate with Unit Manager and Admissions regarding residents needs and processes for the above.
  • Be involved in room change responsibilities.
  • Effectively communicate with DON or RN Supervisor regarding schedule progress and to receive additional instructions.
  • Stock supplies daily and related administrative duties as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Able to adapt to fast-paced environment.
  • Need to be dependable, responsible and a team player with problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

Primarily inside with well-lighted and well-ventilated areas.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.

Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.

Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents/personnel.

Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center, which include a medical and physical examination.

Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the Center.

Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
