Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Die Polisher and Assembly Technician based in Chippewa Falls, WI. The primary responsibilities include polishing and hand grinding precision dies, assembling die components, maintaining quality standards through routine inspections, and utilizing hand tools for finishing tasks. Additional duties involve collaborating with the team to ensure compliance with design specifications and participating in training sessions for skill development.
Job Description:
- Experience with polishing and hand grinding, with attention to detail and precision
- Routinely work to a high degree of precision for dimensional size and geometrical tolerances i.e. flatness, parallelism, perpendicularity using precision measuring tools and fixtures.
- Maintain dimensional requirements and critical features free of defects.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and machines.
- Maintain work area to be clean and organized.
- Maintain timekeeping forms daily.
- Inspect programs and parts for conformity to print dimensions.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Attention to detail is an absolute must.
- Must have a problem solving attitude.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and maintain a cooperative attitude.
- Ability to safely handle large dies in excess of 4,000 pounds using overhead cranes
- Must have awareness of safety protocol at all times
- Associate’s degree machine tool or equivalent from technical school; four-year apprenticeship; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with polishing and hand grinding, with attention to detail and precision
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools
- Proficiency reading blueprints and engineering drawings
- Understanding of quality control processes to ensure high standards
- Ability to undergo training and adapt to new techniques and technologies
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Electrical aptitude and knowledge preferred, but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in relevant fields are a plus
