Overview
Palm Engineering Construction is seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks, vehicles, and construction equipment. This role is critical to keeping our operations running efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills, hands-on experience with diesel engines and diesel equipment, and takes pride in high-quality workmanship.
Duties
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, fleet vehicles, and construction equipment
- Inspect equipment for safety and operational readiness
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Respond to breakdowns in the field as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
- Coordinate with management on repair priorities and parts ordering
Requirements
- Experience working on trucks, diesel engines, and/or heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)
- Own tools preferred
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Work in outdoor and shop environments
- Stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces for extended periods
