Diesel Engine Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Engine Mechanic specializing in diesel engine–driven fire pumps to join our firefighting systems team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in engine overhauling, fault diagnosis, and servicing of fire pump systems in compliance with international fire safety standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Diesel Mechanic or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in diesel engine maintenance and overhauling.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Perform overhauling, fault finding, and troubleshooting of diesel engines.
• Strong working knowledge of diesel engine–driven fire pumps and associated systems.
• Hands-on experience in horizontal split-case centrifugal fire pump overhauling.
• Skilled in disassembly, assembly, alignment, and balancing of fire pumps.
• Proficient in the use of special tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Good understanding of electrical systems, including battery chargers, starters, and control panels related to diesel fire pumps.
• Conduct fire pump flow testing and performance verification.
• Knowledge of pressure relief valves, automatic valve packages, and pneumatic actuators.
• Experience in servicing and maintaining firefighting systems and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
• Ensure work is carried out in compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
