Diesel Equipment Field Lube Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Diesel Field Service Technician to perform preventive maintenance and basic service on heavy-duty diesel equipment in the field. This role is not a full mechanic position. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working around heavy equipment and job sites.

This position focuses on oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and gathering accurate information from equipment operators to help our maintenance team stay ahead of potential issues.

• This IS a preventive maintenance and inspection role
• This IS a field-based position working on dozers, excavators, loaders, rollers, etc.
• This is NOT a diagnostic or major repair mechanic role
• This is NOT engine rebuilds or advanced troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes and routine fluid services on heavy-duty diesel equipment in the field
• Check and service fluids (engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, etc.)
• Conduct basic equipment inspections during service intervals
• Communicate with equipment operators to gather information on performance or concerns
• Accurately complete service checklists, inspection forms, and maintenance reports
• Identify and report potential maintenance or repair needs to management or mechanics
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety while working in the field
• Follow company safety procedures and jobsite rules at all times

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience around equipment, trucks, or machinery
• Prior experience as a lube tech, PM tech, equipment service tech, or similar role preferred
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage time effectively
• Comfortable interfacing professionally with equipment operators and supervisors
• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL a plus, but not required (if applicable)
