JOB SUMMARY:
Capital's LogisticsFleet Division is seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join our growing team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and fleet vehicles. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented mechanic with strong experience in heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, and preventative maintenance. Experience with Bobcat equipment is preferred. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced construction and utility environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Diagnose and repair diesel-powered machinery and fleet vehicles

Perform preventative maintenance and routine service on equipment and trucks

Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems

Service loaders, excavators, skid steers, hydro-vac trailers, scissor lifts, bucket trucks, and heavy-duty trucks

Complete work orders accurately and maintain maintenance records

Inspect equipment for safety and operational readiness

Work in outdoor environments (hot and cold conditions)

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to minimize downtime
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSQUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Diesel mechanic certification(s) preferred

Minimum 2 years of experience with heavy equipment or diesel engines

Experience with Bobcat equipment preferred

Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
-
Ability to diagnose issues independently

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Ability to use smartphone-based systems and maintenance software
-
Must be able to pass physical exam and all background screening
