Diesel Foreman

Job Purpose

To manage and control diesel distribution across sites and fleet, ensuring accurate recording, safe handling, stock control, consumption monitoring, and timely reporting to management. The role supports cost control, operational continuity, and prevention of fuel wastage/pilferage.

Key Responsibilities

Diesel Distribution & Control

• Supervise diesel issuance for light/heavy vehicles, machinery, and generators as per approved process.

• Ensure correct identification of vehicle/machine before issuing fuel.

• Monitor filling discipline and ensure no overfilling/spillage.

Recordkeeping & Reconciliation

• Maintain daily diesel register/logs including: date, site, asset ID, driver/operator, quantity, meter/engine hours (if applicable), and purpose/remarks.

• Collect and verify supporting data (engine hours, trip logs, site attendance) for reconciliation.

• Cross-check fuel stock received vs issued and investigate variances.

Stock & Vendor Coordination

• Track diesel stock levels and plan reordering to avoid shortages.

• Coordinate fuel delivery schedules with vendors and ensure receipts/delivery notes are properly filed.

• Maintain a clear handover record for any shift changes.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Identify abnormal consumption trends and highlight exceptions to management.

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports: site-wise, asset-wise consumption, and variance analysis.

• Support management with audits and spot checks.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Transport/Operations for daily requirements and priority sites.

• Coordinate with Garage/Maintenance for leaks, injector issues, filters, and equipment performance problems impacting consumption.

Requirements & Skills

• 1 - 2 years’ experience in construction/transport/plant operations.

• Strong understanding of fuel control systems, reconciliation, and loss prevention.

• Good reporting skills; strong Excel (daily logs, pivot summaries) is required.

• Ability to work on-site, manage helpers, and handle pressure in operational environments.

• Basic English; Hindi/Arabic is a plus.
