Overview
Site and Utility contractor looking for a diesel mechanic with experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment, as well as on road diesel vehicles
Duties
- Perform routine preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake repairs, transmission servicing, and air brake system inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues
- Interact with vendors for parts and outside service when required
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics..
- Experience working on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozer, loaders, and diesel vehicles of all sizes.
- Ability to operate power tools safely; experience with welding and soldering is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting; comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
- Valid Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Class A CDL not required, but definitely a plus.
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
