Overview
Exergy Engineering is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Diesel Injector Technician to join our Performance team. This position is responsible for inspecting, calibrating, testing, troubleshooting, and quality-checking diesel fuel injectors using specialized test equipment to ensure products meet Exergy's quality and performance standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy. In addition to injector testing and calibration, this individual will be cross-trained on other products and services offered by Exergy to provide support and growth throughout the Performance department as business needs require.
Duties
- Work closely with the Performance Manager to establish daily priorities and ensure customer and internal orders are completed on schedule.
- Review work orders, customer notes, and special instructions prior to beginning work.
- Inspect incoming injectors and identify wear, damage, and potential repair recommendations.
- Review flow sheets and test data when applicable.
- Calibrate injectors to Exergy specifications using specialized test bench equipment.
- Troubleshoot injector performance issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform quality control checks throughout the testing process and prior to shipment.
- Review calibration sheets and verify completed work meets Exergy quality standards.
- Ensure proper packaging and labeling of completed injectors and verify all required items are included with outgoing shipments.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate workload concerns or scheduling conflicts to the Performance Manager.
- Operate injector test bench equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain proficiency in common injector failure modes and diagnostic procedures.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on testing equipment and notify management of equipment concerns.
- Cross-train on additional Exergy products, services, and production processes to provide support throughout the Performance department as needed.
- Assist other members of the Performance team in meeting departmental goals and customer commitments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in diesel, automotive, mechanical, manufacturing, or related technical fields preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to diagnose problems, interpret test results, and make appropriate adjustments independently.
- Experience working with diesel fuel systems, injectors, pumps, engines, or related components preferred.
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation, work instructions, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet production schedules.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience calibrating, testing or troubleshooting fuel system components.
- Experience using diagnostic, testing, calibration or measurement equipment.
- Manufacturing, diesel repair, engine building, performance diesel or powersports experience.
- Familiarity with Bosch common rail fuel systems.
- Interest in diesel performance, motorsports, or high-performance engine applications.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
