Diesel Mechanic
Job Summary
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The role ensures that all vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and servicing
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Repair or replace defective parts such as brakes, fuel systems, engines, and transmissions
- Conduct engine overhauls and major repairs when required
- Test vehicles after repairs to ensure proper operation
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Follow safety standards and company maintenance procedures
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency repair needs
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Relevant technical certification or diploma is preferred
- Physical ability to perform manual and mechanical tasks
- Willingness to work overtime or shifts if required
