Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Diesel Mechanic / Trailer Mechanic with strong metal fabrication skills and extensive trailer experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, fabricating, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment and a wide variety of trailers to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

• Braking systems, suspensions, electrical systems, and drivetrains
• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various types of trailers (flatbed, dump, lowboy, etc.)
• Fabricate, weld, and repair metal components, frames, brackets, and trailer structures
• Perform structural repairs and modifications to trailers as needed
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate service and repair records

Work Environment:

• Exposed to shop equipment, hazardous conditions, and extreme temperatures
• May require flexibility in working hours, including weekends if necessary

Qualifications:

• Experience with trucks and trailer mechanic
• Strong metal fabrication and welding skills (MIG, Stick preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of trailer systems, including axles, suspensions, brakes, and lighting
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and shop equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Welding certifications
• ASE certifications
• Experience with custom trailer builds or heavy equipment

Pay: $28.00 - $60.00 per hour
