Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and preventive inspections on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Repair and replace vehicle components such as HVAC systems, electrical wiring, power tools attachments, and suspension parts with precision.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues quickly and accurately troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems.
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment; perform welding and fabrication work to repair or enhance machinery.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members and customers about repair status.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy equipment operation and diesel engine repair.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles including transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, wheel alignment, tire service, shocks & struts.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to use power tools effectively.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
- Ability to read technical schematics accurately; proficient in electrical troubleshooting and automotive diagnostics.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to ensure quality repairs while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
