Job Description
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of heavy‑duty aggregate trucks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. This role requires a highly skilled technician with extensive hands‑on experience, strong problem‑solving abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines and heavy‑duty truck systems
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
Complete major engine work, including rebuilds, overhauls, and component replacements
Conduct fabrication and welding tasks as needed for repairs or custom modifications
Maintain and repair a variety of truck brands, including Peterbilt, Kenworth, International, Freightliner, Sterling, and others
Respond to service calls for minor issues that arise during daily operations
Perform occasional road calls to assist with breakdowns or urgent repairs
Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance schedules
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Communicate effectively with supervisors and drivers regarding vehicle status and repair needs
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, drivetrains, electrical systems, and heavy‑duty truck components
Proficiency in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair procedures
Experience with welding and fabrication
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Reliable, safety‑focused, and detail‑oriented
Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus but not required

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
