Diesel Mechanic

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge, with hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, particularly in tractor-trailer and heavy equipment applications. This role is vital for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Duties

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Conduct inspections and assessments of vehicle systems to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles.
• Operate various types of equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hydraulic systems as needed for repairs.
• Assist in welding tasks as required for structural repairs or modifications.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.

Skills

• Proficient in automotive diagnostics with a strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics.
• Experience with maintaining and repairing tractor-trailer systems is preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge encompassing various repair techniques and tools.
• Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems and their maintenance requirements.
• Capability to dig, weld, and perform other hands-on mechanical tasks as necessary.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Experience:

• Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
