Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and construction vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and air brake systems using diagnostics tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial machinery.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
• Replace or repair components including belts, filters, hoses, electrical systems, and powertrain parts to ensure optimal operation.
• Interpret schematics for accurate troubleshooting.
• Assist in the assembly of new equipment or machinery components following technical specifications.
• Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and maintenance needs clearly to clients.

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair
• Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, and the use of power tools for repairs.
• Familiarity with diagnostics software and electrical systems troubleshooting.
• Experience working with machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, excavators, forklifts, HVAC systems related to heavy vehicles or machinery.
• Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for complex repairs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.
