We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and electrical systems
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative service on trucks and heavy equipment
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify issues and recommend repairs
- Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot problems
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
- Keep work area clean and organized
- General understanding of other heavy equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment
- Ability to use diagnostic software and hand/power tools
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
Preferred Qualifications
- Diesel mechanic certification (ASE or equivalent)
- Experience with fleet maintenance or heavy equipment
- Welding or fabrication experience
- CDL Class A or B
