Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and electrical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative service on trucks and heavy equipment
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify issues and recommend repairs
  • Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • General understanding of other heavy equipment

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment
  • Ability to use diagnostic software and hand/power tools
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diesel mechanic certification (ASE or equivalent)
  • Experience with fleet maintenance or heavy equipment
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • CDL Class A or B

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

  • Bangor, ME 04401: Relocate before starting work (Required)
