Diesel Mechanic
MPS Group, Inc., is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the Cleveland Cliffs Facility located in Middletown, OH. This individual is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation at the Middletown AK Steel / Cleveland-Cliffs facility.
Shift Details:
Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair wash trucks, vacuum trucks, vans, trucks, water blasters, Lulls, forklifts, scissor lifts, and related equipment.
- Perform DOT annual inspections.
- Complete preventative maintenance, including oil changes, transmission services, tire replacements, and routine inspections.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs.
- Maintain accurate records within the fleet management system.
- Perform welding as needed.
- Utilize diagnostic scanners and tools for troubleshooting.
- Minimal travel required.
- Flexibility to support after-hours call-outs and emergency situations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of diesel mechanic experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
- Valid OSHA 10-Hour Certification.
- Experience performing DOT inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Familiarity with diagnostic scanners and electronic troubleshooting tools.
- Flexible schedule, including overtime, callouts, and emergency repairs.
- Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
