Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of mixer trucks, as well as a range of other equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used daily. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy trucks, equipment, and other commercial motor vehicles to ensure maximum uptime and safety.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Replace or repair brake systems, tires, suspensions, and powertrain components with precision to maintain vehicle safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues involving wiring harnesses, sensors, switches, and control modules; perform electrical repairs.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during maintenance procedures and assist with heavy lifting tasks while following safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding service needs and solutions.
Qualifications
- Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and suspension components preferred.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic software for automotive diagnostics a plus.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts a plus.
- Familiarity with mixer trucks, and tractor trailers is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform tire service, brake repair, and general vehicle maintenance efficiently.
- Knowledge of OEM parts specifications and the ability to work with various hand tools and power tools safely a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong self motivation.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly; comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
