We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used across various industries, including construction, agriculture, transportation, and industrial operations. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM specifications and schematics.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure they meet safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to address unique repair needs.
- Service and repair vehicle systems including air brakes, alignment adjustments, HVAC systems, tire service, and powertrain components.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; interpret technical manuals and schematics for accurate troubleshooting.
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of machinery components during major repairs or rebuilds to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred; strong background in automotive diagnostics and heavy equipment repair is essential.
- Extensive mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension components.
- Proficiency with OEM parts catalogs and schematics for accurate troubleshooting and repair planning.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools necessary for complex repairs.
- Ability to lift heavy components safely during maintenance tasks; experience with heavy lifting equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is advantageous; experience working with Caterpillar or similar brands is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repair processes and timelines.
