Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and air brake systems using OEM schematics and service manuals
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, alignment, and vehicle inspections to prevent breakdowns
• Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, and power tools for custom repairs or modifications
• Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures
• Conduct assembly and disassembly of mechanical components with precision to ensure proper fitment and function
• Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow safety protocols at all times

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance
• CDL preferred
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and the use of hand tools and power tools
• Knowledge of schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and transmissions in various machinery
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
