Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet and machinery, supporting our operational excellence. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel/gas engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency.
  • Fabricate parts or components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
  • Replace or repair brakes, air brake systems, tires, alignments, and HVAC systems on various vehicles and machinery.
  • Assemble and disassemble mechanical components for equipment repair or overhaul projects while adhering to safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
  • Support heavy lifting operations safely while handling large parts or equipment during maintenance procedures.

Skills

  • Extensive dealership experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.
  • Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, OEM parts standards, hydraulic systems, transmissions, air brake systems, and vehicle maintenance protocols.
  • Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, assembly, and use of hand tools or power tools.
  • Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, farm machinery, HVAC units, and other heavy equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience for diagnosing automotive electrical systems effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections.
