Diesel Mechanic (Tuesday-Saturday, Dayshift)

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Diesel Mechanic to join our team! In this vital role, you will perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on a variety of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure our clients’ fleets operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. This position offers the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of machinery including trucks, industrial equipment, farm machinery, and more.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery.
  • Repair and replace critical components including shocks & struts, brakes, air brakes systems, wheel alignments, HVAC systems, and powertrain parts.
  • Fabricate parts or modifications using hand tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and power tools to meet specific repair needs.
  • Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist in assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades; support heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment.
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction with the work completed.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician within a dealership or fleet maintenance environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and suspension components.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Skilled in fabrication processes including welding and soldering; capable of working with power tools effectively.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is preferred.
  • Ability to perform tire service, wheel alignments, brake repairs, HVAC servicing, and general vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail; capable of working independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings. Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
