Diesel Mechanic/Fleet Management

Position Summary:

The self-starter candidate will be responsible for overseeing our fleet of delivery and service trucks and support vehicles, mowers, and equipment.

Guaranteed 40 hours a week with overtime anticipated during winter and special projects. Flexible schedule.

Job Tasks & Responsibilities

May include any/or all of the following:

• Will oversee parts, tire and tool inventories
• Communicates and takes instruction from the dispatcher/ supervisor on weekly workload priorities
• Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and will be the liaison when outsourcing work that needs to be done by others, sourcing new equipment
• Performs tire changes –we have the machines to assist.
• Visits three offices to do this fleet work – with supplied mobile service truck
• Occasionally provides roadside repairs in an emergency or arranges towing.
• Educates co-workers on safety and operational procedures/ functions of equipment
• Performs light gas pump and tank repair when available
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Must have excellent problem solving skills.
• Must be willing & able to go out occasionally during nights and weekends if a driver needs assistance.
• Work in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.

• Possess a team-player attitude with a willingness to accept constructive criticism.
• Willingness to do what it takes to accomplish goals.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license with hazmat endorsement within 90 days of employment.
• Possess a self-starter mentality.
• Possess good decision making skills for the safety of our customers, the company & yourself.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
