Diesel Service Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel trucks. Duties

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension, transmissions and HVAC components using schematics and advanced diagnostic tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on tractor-trailers, medium duty trucks, & some light duty diesels to ensure optimal performance.
• Fabricate and modify parts using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs.
• Replace or repair shocks & struts, brake systems, wheel alignments, tires, and other critical components to maintain safety standards.
• Utilize equipment operation skills for lifting and positioning large parts during repairs or assembly processes.
• Interpret technical schematics and manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical failures accurately.
• Perform vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, fluid replacements, belt replacements, and system inspections with attention to detail.
• Ensure all repairs comply with safety regulations such as air brake certifications and industry standards while maintaining a clean work environment.

Experience

• Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific systems and protocols.
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, HVAC systems, and suspension components.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics is essential.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions; willingness to perform tire service or other physically demanding tasks as needed. Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
