Diesel Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of equipment used across various sectors. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
• Fabricate parts and components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on industrial equipment and farm machinery.
• Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, brakes, HVAC components, and perform wheel alignments to ensure safety and optimal operation.
• Assemble new equipment or parts following technical specifications and schematics; perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering maintenance recommendations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
• Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and assembly of heavy machinery parts.
• Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals related to Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands.
• Hands-on experience operating excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial or farm machinery.
• Familiarity with automotive repair tools such as power tools, hand tools, diagnostic scanners, and alignment equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or maintenance tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service abilities to support client needs effectively. Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
