Diesel Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines, industrial equipment, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep operations running smoothly. Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and other heavy equipment components.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal performance.
• Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and electronic controls on various machinery.
• Fabricate parts or modify equipment using power tools such as welders, soldering irons, grinders, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs.
• Operate heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment for wear or damage; perform necessary repairs or replacements to maintain safety standards.
• Document all repair activities thoroughly in service records; communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic in a dealership or industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
• Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics interpretation.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely; welding and soldering skills are a plus.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to air brake systems, alignment procedures, suspension repairs, HVAC systems, shocks & struts replacement.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; capable of performing heavy lifting when necessary.
• Valid certifications in diesel engine repair or automotive repair are preferred; dealership experience is highly valued.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly. Pay: $32.22 - $45.00 per hour
