Position Overview

We are hiring an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician primarily serving the Houston region, with a strong focus on mobile service operations.

This role will initially be mobile-based, with the expectation of transitioning into a hybrid shop + mobile role once our Houston facility is operational. At that time, this position will be based out of the Houston facility.

Occasional travel or support in our Seguin, TX headquarters may be required for training, overflow work, or operational support.

Technicians with the ability to work across diesel platforms AND RV systems, and those capable of operating independently in mobile service environments, will be prioritized.

Compensation Structure

  • Starting Pay Range: $20 – $40 per hour

Compensation is determined based on:

  • Experience and years in the field
  • Certifications (ASE, OEM, RV, etc.)
  • Diagnostic capability and efficiency
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to service both diesel and RV systems
  • Mobile service capability (including service vehicle readiness, if applicable)

90-Day Performance Review

Compensation is evaluated and may be increased based on:

  • Productivity and billable efficiency
  • Diagnostic accuracy and repair quality
  • Professionalism and customer interaction
  • Reliability and overall performance

Compensation Guidance (For Transparency)

Typical Texas market ranges:

  • Entry-level / developing techs: $20–$25/hr
  • Mid-level technicians: $25–$32/hr
  • Strong diagnostic technicians: $30–$38/hr
  • High-level / multi-platform techs: $35–$40+ hr (performance-based)

Technicians capable of working across diesel, RV systems, and mobile service environments are positioned for higher earning potential.

Work Structure

  • Primary Role (Now): Mobile service throughout Houston and surrounding areas
  • Future Structure: Houston-based shop + mobile operations
  • Additional Support: Occasional work in Seguin, TX facility or service region

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and repair on:
  • Heavy-duty diesel trucks
  • Construction and commercial equipment
  • RV chassis systems (motorhomes, diesel pushers)
  • Execute mobile service calls, including emergency and scheduled work
  • Identify and properly document repair needs and recommendations
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding scope and solutions
  • Track labor, parts, and job progress accurately (Housecall Pro)
  • Maintain professional standards, safety practices, and clean work areas

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years heavy-duty diesel experience preferred
  • Strong diagnostic capability across engines, electrical, hydraulics, and driveline
  • Experience with Cummins or similar platforms preferred
  • ASE certifications preferred (not required)
  • Welding/fabrication is a plus
  • RV or motorcoach experience is a major advantage
