Position Summary
Our Diesel Mechanic I are responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and machinery. This position supports safe and efficient operations by maintaining semi-tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, and other mechanical systems. The Diesel Mechanic I diagnoses mechanical issues, repairs hydraulic and electrical systems, completes required documentation, and ensures equipment is operating properly and in compliance with safety standards.

- 3:30pm - 1:00am
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance services on diesel trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles
- Complete oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, brake inspections, and fluid checks
- Assist with diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension systems, and electrical components
- Conduct safety inspections and document repair findings accurately
- Replace basic mechanical components including belts, hoses, batteries, lights, and brake components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Respond to road calls or minor field service repairs as assigned
- Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards
- Accurately complete work orders and maintenance records using shop software systems
- Support senior technicians on larger repairs and rebuild projects
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Relevant Military experience
- Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of welding and torching preferred
- Experience with air brakes and hydraulic systems preferred
- 1-3 years of diesel mechanic or fleet maintenance experience
- Trade school or vocational training in diesel technology preferred
