Estates of Shavano Park is looking to hire a full time Diet Aide for our Skilled Nursing Facility in Shavano Park, Texas.

JOB FUNCTION:

The Diet Aide/Dishwasher assists the Cook in the preparation and service of meals. The Dietary Aide/Dishwasher reports to and is solely responsible to the Dietary Mangers from day to day and the Shift Leader (Cook) during assigned duty hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read, speak and understand English, follows directions, and completes tasks.
• Follows work/duty schedule provided by the Dietary Manager.
• Ability to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.
• Dependable, with quantity food service experience (preferably in long term care).
• Ability to work in a busy dish room to clean, sanitize and organize dishware and utensils.
• We will provide training for prospective employees for Certified Food Handlers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares hot and cold foods and beverages as directed by the Cook or Dietary Manager, following menus and recipes for regular, texture modified and therapeutic diets.
• For tray service is used:
• Prepares trays with proper dishes, glasses, cups, and eating utensils for meals.
• Checks resident's trays for proper and accurate food items.
• Transports and serves trays at meal delivery time.

3. For dining room service is used:

• Assists residents with seating.
• Serves foods as requested by resident.
• Cleans Dining Room at end of meal service.
• Prepares snacks and nourishments with proper labels according to resident food preferences and physician’s orders.
• Cleans food preparation and service areas after use including utensils.
• Follows posted cleaning schedules utilizing proper sanitation and cleaning methods. Practices safety, infection control, and emergency procedures according to facility policies.
• Attends in-service education and staff meetings as required.
• Remains courteous, considerate, and cooperative when communicating with all facility personnel, residents, and family members.
• Sweeps and mops floors.
• Wears personal protective equipment as required.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Shift Leader (Cook).
