Dietary Aide – Buffalo Prairie Care Center

Position Summary:

Buffalo Prairie Care Center is seeking a dependable and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in a long-term care skilled nursing environment. The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in ensuring our residents receive nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining experience.

Pay & Schedule:

• Starting Pay: $15.00/hour
• Position Type: Full-Time
• Some weekends and holidays required

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with meal preparation, tray assembly, and beverage service according to resident diet orders
• Deliver meals to resident rooms and dining areas in a timely manner
• Ensure residents receive correct diets and portions
• Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment following proper sanitation guidelines
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, workstations, and food storage areas
• Follow all state, federal, and facility food safety and infection control regulations
• Assist with stocking and rotating food and supplies
• Observe and report changes in residents’ appetite or concerns to nursing staff
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents, families, and staff

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous food service experience is a plus (healthcare setting preferred)
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25–50 pounds
• Ability to push carts and remain on feet for extended periods
