Dietary Aide/Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team in providing high-quality meal services in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, particularly within nursing homes. This role is essential for ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals while adhering to dietary guidelines and safety standards.

Duties

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
• Assist in the planning and preparation of menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
• Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
• Collaborate with dietary aides to serve meals efficiently and ensure proper presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas through regular cleaning routines.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing resident preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Participate in training sessions related to food handling, safety practices, and culinary techniques.

Skills

• Experience in nursing home settings is preferred.
• Strong background in food production and culinary practices.
• Knowledge of dietary guidelines and meal preparation techniques.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal service.
• Familiarity with food safety protocols and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
