Job Summary
The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing the dietary department within a healthcare or assisted living facility. This role involves managing food service operations, ensuring compliance with dietary regulations, and promoting nutritional health among residents. The Dietary Manager will work closely with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the dietary needs of residents, while also managing budgeting and resource allocation within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents based on their health conditions and preferences.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to create personalized care plans that include dietary considerations.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess residents' nutritional status and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Provide health coaching to residents, educating them on healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices.
  • Oversee budgeting for the dietary department, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining quality service.
  • Train and supervise dietary staff, fostering a collaborative work environment focused on resident care.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to food service in healthcare settings.

Compensation: $21.00 - $27.16 per hour

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Knowledge of physiology and its application to dietetics and nutrition is essential.
  • Experience in managing a dietary department within an assisted living or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in budgeting and financial management within a food service context.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff members.
  • Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing resident health and well-being.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
