Tasks:
- Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Nutrition Management
- Assess the dietary needs of all residents based on medical history, age, health conditions, and physician’s recommendations.
- Meal Planning & Supervision
- Plan daily/weekly menus in coordination with the kitchen staff, ensuring variety, nutrition, taste, and resident preferences.
- Health Monitoring
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and caregivers to track residents’ health progress.
- Resident & Family Education
- Provide dietary counseling to residents and families on healthy food choices.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and eldercare nutrition standards.
- Maintain accurate dietary records and documentation.
- Assist in audits and inspections related to nutrition and food safety.
- Educate caregivers and staff about special diet preparation (e.g., pureed food, low-fat options).
- Monitor and record residents’ weight, BMI, hydration, and nutritional status at regular intervals.
- Identify malnutrition risks early and intervene appropriately.
- Supervise food preparation and serving to ensure hygiene, portion control, and compliance with dietary guidelines.
- Suggest fortified or supplementary foods if required.
- Develop individualized diet charts, meal plans, and therapeutic diets (e.g., diabetic, renal, cardiac, low-salt, soft diet, dysphagia-friendly diet).
- Monitor residents’ nutritional intake and make necessary modifications.
