Location: Bellingham, WA. Office based role, with hybrid work schedule available after 3 month probation period.

Term and Salary: Pay is dependent upon experience ranging from $25 - $27.50 per hour. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position.

About Road2Home:

Road2Home is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Bellingham, WA providing community-based support for people experiencing homelessness. Our goal is to help our clients access services and resources, and develop strategies that enable them to meet their basic needs while on a path to stable housing.

Our Ally Program provides direct services to people living on the streets, in cars, and in encampments who are living without shelter. We also recruit, train and pair community volunteers with unsheltered individuals–many of whom live at Gardenview Tiny Home Village–to help them navigate the daily responsibilities of life.

Gardenview Village, which we operate, is a 35-unit tiny home community serving medically fragile and aging adults experiencing homelessness. The program provides low-barrier shelter, individualized case management, housing navigation, and connection to medical and behavioral health resources. The environment is collaborative, and centered around client choice and wellbeing.

Job Summary:

Road2Home is seeking a creative, organized, and relationship-oriented to help grow and strengthen our fundraising program. Working closely with the Director of Philanthropy, this position will play a key role in donor stewardship, fundraising communications, database management, social media engagement, crowdfunding campaigns, and event support.

The Digital and Community Giving Coordinator will be responsible for managing and stewarding smaller gift donors ($25 to $499), helping retain and expand our monthly donor program, coordinating donor acknowledgments and tax receipts, maintaining donor records and reports within a CRM database, and supporting fundraising mailings and events. This position will also help expand Road2Home's online fundraising presence by developing engaging social media and crowdfunding campaigns, building relationships with younger supporters, growing our community of followers and donors, and identifying new donor prospects through basic research. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, comfortable with technology and social media, highly organized, and passionate about helping people experiencing homelessness achieve stability and housing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and send donor acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and tax receipts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and manage the donor database (CRM), including data entry, record maintenance, report generation, list segmentation, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of donor information.
  • Assist the Director of Philanthropy in the management and growth of Road2Home's monthly giving program by recruiting new monthly donors, and stewarding and upgrading existing monthly donors.
  • Manage and steward smaller dollar donors ($25 to $499) through personalized communications, donor cultivation activities, crowdfunding campaigns, and digital engagement strategies designed to increase donor retention and giving levels.
  • Develop and implement digital fundraising initiatives across social media platforms to engage new audiences, strengthen donor relationships, and grow support among younger generations of donors.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute crowdfunding campaigns that increase donor participation, raise awareness of Road2Home's mission, and generate financial support.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising events, including event logistics, registration, and other event-related activities as assigned.
  • Conduct basic donor and prospect research to identify potential supporters and assist with donor cultivation efforts.
  • Assist with online fundraising appeals, donor communications, and direct mail campaigns, as needed.
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Director of Philanthropy and assist with other fundraising initiatives as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of fundraising and social media engagement and marketing experience.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal background check.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate and maintain effective relationships with donors, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Possess a working understanding of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Donor CRMs, Likewise possess a high-level of comfort and proficiency with social media platforms, crowdfunding, and digital communications/marketing strategies to generate more gifts and grow our list of donors/followers.
  • Must be organized, flexible, and responsive, and able to complete work in a timely manner, sometimes under complex or changing timelines.
  • Able to work both independently and as a team member, handle stressful situations effectively, and embrace inclusion and diversity among colleagues and the people that we serve.
  • Curious by nature and interested in advancing a career in fundraising.
  • Have a working understanding of donor stewardship strategies.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal background check.
