Digital and Print Designer

Job Description:

As a designer at Brassica + Northstar Restaurant Group, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our brand comes to life across digital and physical spaces. You’ll be responsible for creating thoughtful and beautiful materials that reflect our culture and enhance the guest experience - whether in-store, online, or in the community. From menus and event promotion to in-store merchandising and photoshoot support, your creativity and eye for detail will directly support our vision of operating restaurants of distinctively high quality. The right candidate will be resourceful, have exceptional potential, take ownership of their work and be motivated to make our entire organization better, in ways big and small.

Core Responsibilities:

• Concept, develop and execute strategic design projects and marketing collateral within deadlines.
• Execute designs for digital and print platforms - including graphics, window vinyl, store signage, menu design, formatting, and proofreading.
• Manage vendor relationships to see print projects through to completion, including gathering field measurements, production and installation.
• Be a trusted partner to our copywriter; help shape and support our brand voice (and catch typos!).
• Support photoshoots by collaborating on creative direction, coordinating with vendors, and assisting on-site to ensure brand consistency.
• Maintain brand consistency, including tone of voice, across all visual and written content.
• Support website updates, including online menu maintenance and photography.
• Assist with in-store merchandising projects and new restaurant opening design needs.
• Design with curiosity and empathy - always considering how our guests experience the brand across channels.
• Participate in select in-restaurant leadership training to deepen understanding of our culture, team, and guests.
• This role is part of a small but mighty team supporting our restaurants, which means being available to help when needed - including occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of graphic design or digital content experience; agency or in-house restaurant/retail experience a plus.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across print, digital, and brand storytelling.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiarity with website platforms (BentoBox, SquareSpace, Olo), as well as with photography and video editing tools.
• Excellent communication and copy-editing skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
• Ability to balance multiple projects, meet deadlines, and pivot between short-term fixes and long-term strategic initiatives.
• Service-minded and hospitality-aware: you understand the pace of restaurants and the importance of the guest and team experience.
• Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends to support events, photoshoots, or urgent projects.
• Comfortable working on-site at our support office or restaurants and collaborating with both service and culinary teams.
