Digital Animation Lead

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Digital Animation Lead to oversee and execute innovative animation projects across various media platforms. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in character animation, motion graphics, and 3D modeling, with a strong background in both technical and artistic aspects of digital art. This role requires leadership in managing animation teams, collaborating with cross-disciplinary departments, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality visual content that aligns with project goals and artistic vision.

Duties

• Lead the development of character animations, motion graphics, and visual effects using industry-standard software such as Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Mudbox, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Oversee the creation of 2D and 3D animations for various projects including films, commercials, video games, and virtual reality experiences.
• Collaborate with directors, designers, and developers to conceptualize and execute compelling visual narratives.
• Manage animation pipelines utilizing scripting languages like Python, C#, C++, and scripting within Unity or Unreal Engine to optimize workflows.
• Supervise the post-production process including video editing, color grading, compositing in Adobe After Effects and Premiere.
• Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and technical specifications while fostering a creative team environment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends in digital art, computer graphics, and animation technology to continuously enhance production quality.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior animators and artists to develop their skills and ensure consistency across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Digital Animation Lead or similar senior role with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in character animation, motion graphics, and digital art.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software including Cinema 4D, Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Mudbox, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Unity, Unreal Engine.
• Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge for realistic character modeling and animation.
• Skilled in scripting languages such as Python, C#, C++, with experience in automation within animation pipelines.
• Knowledge of color theory, typography, graphic design principles, and photography techniques.
• Experience with video editing tools like Adobe Premiere for post-production workflows.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Perforce or similar tools for collaborative project management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively while collaborating across departments.
• A degree in Animation, Computer Graphics, Fine Arts or related field is preferred but not mandatory with equivalent professional experience.
