Digital Communications and Content Manager

Position Overview

The Green Vale School seeks a Digital Communications and Content Manager who will be an enthusiastic and collaborative member of the Green Vale community beginning July 1, 2026.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communications, the Digital Communications and Content Manager executes the day-to-day creative production and operational tasks of the department. This role focuses on multi-media content creation, digital platform maintenance, and supporting the Director in translating the School’s strategic vision into high-quality, engaging content for all constituencies. About the Green Vale School

The Green Vale School is a co-educational, independent day school (PN–8) located on a beautiful 40-acre campus on the North Shore of Long Island. Approximately 25 miles from New York City, Green Vale has served families in surrounding suburban communities for over 100 years.

Essential Responsibilities:

I. Content Creation & Digital Assets

  • Multimedia Production: Serve as the primary lead for capturing high-quality photography and video content of daily campus life, special events, and athletics.

  • Visual Storytelling: Edit and produce short-form video (Reels/TikTok style) and photo essays that highlight the school’s mission and student experience. Develop awareness and appreciation for all that goes on at Green Vale and help generate ideas for how best to share and inform/engage our audiences.
  • Graphic Design: Design digital and print collateral, including social media graphics, event invitations, and brochures, in alignment with brand style guide.
  • Asset Management: Organize and maintain the school’s digital media library, ensuring all faculty and staff have access to approved imagery and brand assets.

II. Strategic Digital Presence

  • Social Media Management: Manage the daily social media postings and community engagement across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), converting strategic goals into active posts.

  • Website Content: Execute updates for the school website via Finalsite, ensuring photography is fresh, links are functional, and content is current.
  • Calendar and Newsletters: Maintain the school-wide electronic calendar with inputs from academics, athletics, and administration. Compile and draft the “Next Week at GVS” scheduling summary.
  • Writing & Communications: Draft logistical school-wide emails and contribute articles for reports, magazines, and pamphlets.
  • Analytics: Monitor performance metrics across digital channels and provide data to the Director to inform future strategy.

III. Institutional Support & Coordination

  • Departmental Support: Provide creative assets and tactical execution for Admissions, Advancement, and Alumni Relations initiatives.

  • Volunteer Liaison: Work with parent volunteers to help craft and disseminate communications for fundraising events (Spring Gala, Book Fair, etc.).
  • Consistency Review: Assist the Director by reviewing internal communications from various departments to ensure they align with the school’s visual identity and voice.

IV. Operational Management

  • Project Tracking: Manage the production calendar to ensure all communication deadlines are met and resources are used efficiently.

  • List Management: Support the accuracy of communication constituent lists and directories in coordination with the Admissions and IT departments.
  • Emerging Technology: Leverage AI tools to streamline content drafting, photo editing, and workflow automation.


Education and Experience

  • Three to five years of experience in digital content creation and marketing or communications.

  • Proven portfolio of photography and video work, specifically for social media engagement.
  • Bachelor's Degree, ideally in marketing, communications, education or business.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign) or advanced Canva skills.

  • Expertise in video production (iMovie, Vimeo, Adobe Suite, Final Cut etc.).
  • Web design software (SquareSpace, Wix, Weebly, Finalsite Composer, etc.).
  • Strong technical proficiency in CMS (Finalsite preferred).
  • Ability to work independently as a "creator" while supporting department and school-wide strategies and tactics and taking strategic direction from the Director.
  • A clear sense of editorial judgment and the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with faculty, students, and parents.

Compensation:

  • The salary will be commensurate with experience; the range is $65,000 -$75,000.
