Digital Content and Internal Communications Coordinator

Job Description:

The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is the regional planning and intergovernmental coordination agency that focuses on issues critical to the region’s success, including growth and development, transportation, water resources, services for older adults, and workforce solutions. ARC works with local governments and regional partners to help the Atlanta region remain a thriving, competitive, and livable place.

POSITION SUMMARY
ARC is seeking a creative and strategic Communications and Marketing Analyst to support the Communications Division within the Department of External Affairs. This position helps implement the agency’s digital communications strategy with an emphasis on social media and digital content, and supports internal communications initiatives that keep staff informed, connected, and aligned with ARC’s mission and priorities.
The Communications and Marketing Analyst will focus on content development, digital communications, and messaging across multiple platforms, including various social media channels, email marketing, and internal channels. The position requires strong writing and storytelling abilities, an understanding of digital communications best practices, and the ability to translate complex policy and planning topics into clear and engaging communications for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the development of ARC’s digital communications strategy.
  • Implement ARC’s social media plan through content development and scheduling.
  • Maintain and update website content, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with ARC’s communications goals.
  • Develop and distribute digital communications including newsletters, email campaigns, internal digital displays, and outreach materials.
  • Draft and edit written communications including web content, internal announcements, reports, and promotional materials.
  • Support internal communications initiatives that keep ARC staff informed about agency priorities, programs, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with communications staff and program teams to translate complex information into clear and engaging messaging.
  • Track and analyze digital communications performance and prepare reports on engagement and effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support agency communications goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field and one (1) year of experience in communications, marketing, digital communications, media relations, public relations or content development.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job may be considered.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Knowledge of digital communications tools and platforms including social media marketing and email marketing platforms.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team-based environments.
  • Familiarity with social media management and email marketing services and platforms
  • Familiarity with digital analytics and communications metrics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with website content management and accessibility best practices is preferred.
