Heirloom Coffee Roasters Digital Content Manager
Location: Oakland, CA
Salary: $80,000-$85,000 Annually

We are seeking a Content Manager to join our growing team and own the development, execution, and optimization of our content strategy across all digital and offline touchpoints.
Role Overview
The Content Manager will be responsible for shaping and delivering Heirloom’s brand story through compelling, premium-quality content. This person will work cross-functionally with marketing, design, e-commerce, and customer experience teams to ensure that all storytelling like social media, newsletters, product launches, blogs, and recipes reinforces our brand voice, drives engagement, and accelerates e-commerce growth.
This position will have hybrid commute options but is not a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning
- Develop and manage a comprehensive content calendar aligned with product launches, campaigns, and the Heirloom brand story.
- Translate brand strategy into storytelling opportunities across digital platforms like our website, social media, email, blog, paid media, and PR.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to ensure content supports broader business objectives like awareness, engagement, and conversions.
Content Creation & Management
- Write and edit engaging, brand-aligned content across all media channels
- Partner with creative/design teams to ensure content is visually compelling and optimized for performance.
- Manage freelance writers, photographers, and videographers as needed.
- Ensure all content reflects Heirloom’s voice, brand image, and position as the leader in sustainable and healthy coffee leveraging our premium, educational, culinary-driven, transparent, and empathetic brand voice.
-Record content in our roastery for use on social media platforms.
Digital Growth & Optimization
- Own content performance metrics, track engagement, CTR, conversions, and adjust strategy based on insights.
- Optimize website and e-commerce content for SEO and CRO with our growth and retention partners.
- Support paid advertising and influencer campaigns with strong copy and creative briefing.
Brand Storytelling & Education
- Collaborate with the product team to translate complex coffee knowledge into consumer-friendly content.
- Highlight Heirloom’s regenerative sourcing and Culinary Roast™ Standard in storytelling that builds trust and loyalty.
- Develop brand assets that can scale across wholesale, retail, and foodservice channels.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in content management, digital marketing, or brand storytelling (CPG, specialty food/beverage, or lifestyle brand preferred).
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adopt and maintain Heirloom’s distinct voice.
- A sharp eye for design and visually compelling content
- Ability to leverage AI for efficiency and brand alignment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with Shopify, SEO, Google Analytics, Klaviyo (or equivalent ESP), and social scheduling tools.
- A collaborative, growth-minded team player who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Passion for sustainability, specialty coffee, and culinary culture is a strong plus.

You must be able to travel internationally as we visit coffee farms annually.
