JOB SUMMARY:
This position is part of the Hollywood Police Department’s Body Camera Program, performing various specialized, administrative and non-law enforcement functions. This position entails maintaining and issuing the physical body-camera and associated equipment, receiving, managing and maintaining multiple forms of digital evidence in compliance with discovery laws, public disclosure laws, public records retention laws and the adopted policies and procedures of the Hollywood Police Department. The incumbent will be processing public records requests, including video/audio redacting, to ensure compliance with public disclosure and privacy laws.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Maintains body-worn cameras and associated equipment for warranty and other manufacture services

Receives, manages, and maintains digital evidence in compliance with public disclosure, retention and privacy laws specific to such evidence
-
Creates and verifies proper event category designations and retention schedules for storage of digital evidence. Identifies and corrects improperly categorized or labeled digital evidence

Processes public records requests as required by Florida Public Records Disclosure Laws in compliance with public record exemptions and privacy laws
-
Train users in the proper use, care, calibration, performance and equipment protocols, including the evidence management system. Update users of any changes, updates, or revisions in software, equipment and policy

Receives, maintains, and downloads digital formal statements. Transfers statements for transcription and ensures the prosecution/investigating parties receive the finalized product

Receives, manages and maintains 911 and police radio dispatch records in compliance with public disclosure and retention laws
-
Receives, manages and maintains unmanned aircraft system (DRONES) digital evidence in compliance with public disclosure and public retention laws
-
Networks with multiple agencies including, but not limited to, the State Attorney’s Office, the City Attorney’s Office, the Broward County Digital Evidence Unit, as well as other investigating agencies

Assists prosecutors in ensuring that all discovery requests are fulfilled
-
Assists management with special projects; completes work detail forms on completed projects
-
Performs information technology related tasks and various administrative tasks as directed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Required:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent; supplemented by one (1) year to three (3) years of experience in a law enforcement agency performing duties such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement, Public Safety/Community Service Aide or similar support capacity. Demonstrated ability to type thirty (30) corrected words per minute.
Preferred:
Associate’s Degree; supplemented by five (5) years of experience in a law enforcement agency performing duties such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement, Public Safety/Community Service Aide or similar support capacity. Demonstrated ability to type forty (40) corrected words per minute.
Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

Repeated participation in any examination for which the same test is used is limited to once every 6 months. Final passing grades are used to determine a candidate's position on the eligibility list of successful candidates. Departments fill vacancies from this list. The top three names are considered for each vacancy unless otherwise modified. Those not appointed are returned to the eligibility list for further consideration in accordance with the Civil Service Ordinance. Your name will remain on a register for one year for open competitive examinations and two years for closed competitive except where labor contract conflicts.
Your name may be removed from an eligibility list prior to one year according to Hollywood's Civil Service Ordinance or labor contracts. Your eligibility may be cancelled if you refuse a position or if you are not available for work. You are responsible for notifying the Employment Office, in writing, of any change in your address or telephone number.
