Position Summary:
The MSUFCU internship program is designed to support interns in developing career readiness competencies as defined by NACE. Throughout the internship program, interns will gain hands-on experience and enhance essential skills that prepare them for success and career growth. Interns will have the opportunity to develop competencies in career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and technology.
The Digital Experience Intern will support the Digital Experience team in enhancing the credit union’s digital platforms through content creation, user experience research, and digital optimization efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience in digital strategy, UX writing, and content management, providing valuable exposure to real-world projects that improve member engagement and digital accessibility.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a passion for digital communication, eager to learn about content strategy, user experience, and digital marketing in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Work Location: Hybrid; A combination of working from home/remotely and at MSUFCU Headquarters campus in East Lansing, MI
Work Schedule: Part-Time 15-25 hours/week; Hours will be scheduled based on student's school schedule and business hours (8:30AM - 5:00PM Monday-Friday)
Paid Hourly Internship - $16.00+/hour dependent on experience
Duration: Spring Semester - Beginning January 7th, with potential to continue into future semesters
An offer of employment with MSU Federal Credit Union and affiliates is contingent upon the agreed work arrangement (onsite/hybrid/remote) and work location. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and updating content across websites, mobile apps, and other digital platforms.
- Collaborate with designers, developers, and the marketing team to ensure content aligns with brand and UX standards.
- Conduct research on user behavior, digital trends, and competitor content to inform strategy.
- Participate in content audits to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with governance standards.
- Use analytics tools to track content performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in testing digital content for clarity, usability, and consistency across devices.
- Contribute to special projects and team initiatives as assigned by the Digital Experience Manager.
- Understand the Credit Union's policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accountability for managing operational risks. Adhere to established internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and maintain the integrity of credit union operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma required.
- Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, content strategy, communications, UX writing, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of SEO, UX principles, and content management systems.
- Basic understanding of digital content principles including content creation for web or mobile platforms and user experience fundamentals.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- May be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period.
- Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment, and tools, which may include many hours of computer and phone usage.
- Occasionally needs to move about inside of an office area.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure.
- Occasionally moves equipment or materials weighing up to 25 pounds for transport between areas of buildings.
- This position can work in hybrid or onsite working arrangements.
