Digital Forensic Intake Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Forensic Intake Specialist (DFIS) will serve as the entry point for the Digital Forensic Unit (DFU) requests for work. The position requires an understanding and knowledge of the mission of the DFU for both the business side and technology aspects to evaluate the unit’s needs. The Digital Forensic Intake Specialist will work with supervisors to address complex cases and create roadmaps to produce a linear workflow. The DFIS will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, estimating, and evaluating the request forms to make the unit more efficient in preparation for case management, archiving evidence, evidence retention, evidence dissemination, and in some cases, legal preparation, presenting facts to prosecutors, grand juries, depositions, judges, and defense attorneys. A minimum of 65 percent of time will perform duties that involve the collection, examination, preservation, documentation, preparation, or analysis of human tissues or fluids or physical evidence having potential biological, chemical or radiological hazard or contamination, or use chemicals, processes, or materials that may have carcinogenic or health-damaging properties in the analysis of such evidence. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES

High School Diploma required. AA/BA Degree from an accredited college preferred. Three years relevant investigative experience preferred. Must have basic computer skills. Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License at all times. Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The physical abilities listed below are estimates of time spent during a typical workday to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Members in this position may be required to:

• Sit up to 7 hours per day

• Stand up to 1 hour per day

• Walk up to 1 hour per day

• Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

• Frequently bend, squat, reach, kneel or twist

Other Requirements:

• 20/40 vision (corrected/uncorrected)

• Ability to hear conversation at a normal level (assisted or unassisted)

• Exposure to pornographic and Child Sexual Abuse Material

• Exposure to and handling of biohazardous materials (i.e. bodily fluids)
