Digital Innovation Specialist

We are seeking a collaborative, user-focused, and strategically minded Digital Innovation Specialist to join our innovation and delivery organization. The successful candidate will identify and evaluate emerging technologies, partner with product, design, engineering, and business stakeholders to define pilot and scale strategies, and help translate innovation opportunities into measurable customer and business outcomes. This role requires strong technical curiosity, excellent stakeholder management, and experience running discovery, prototyping, and cross-functional experiments in an agile environment.

Key Responsibilities - Innovation & Delivery

  • Scan, evaluate, and synthesize emerging technologies, platforms, and digital trends to identify opportunities that align with strategic business priorities and customer needs.

  • Lead discovery and prototyping efforts—define problem statements, design experiments, create prototypes, and run user tests to validate concepts and surface viability, desirability, and feasibility.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, data, security, and operations to translate validated experiments into roadmaps, reusable patterns, or pilot projects that can be handed off to delivery teams.

  • Define success criteria and metrics for innovation initiatives, instrument experiments, and analyze qualitative and quantitative results to inform go/no-go decisions and next steps.

  • Develop rapid proofs-of-concept using modern tooling and integrations (APIs, cloud services, low-code/no-code platforms) to de-risk technical approaches and accelerate learning.

  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops, design sprints, and stakeholder briefings to align priorities, cultivate adoption, and surface implementation constraints early.

  • Document and share learnings, patterns, and recommended architectures or vendor options to build internal capability and reduce duplication across teams.

  • Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and research providers; define scopes of work, acceptance criteria, and evaluate vendor deliverables against expected outcomes.

  • Champion accessibility, privacy, and security considerations in prototyping and pilot planning to ensure solutions are inclusive and compliant from the outset.

Required Qualifications - Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Business, or similar), or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in a role focused on digital innovation, prototyping, product discovery, or technical program work that interfaces with product and engineering teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to run discovery and experimentation: define hypotheses, design experiments, build prototypes, and iterate based on user feedback and data.

  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; experienced leading cross-functional workshops and presenting concise recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.

  • Technical fluency with cloud platforms, APIs, integration patterns, and modern development or low-code tooling; able to partner effectively with engineering and data teams.

  • Comfortable using analytics and qualitative research to measure impact and make data-informed decisions.

  • Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and influence outcomes without formal authority.

Preferred Qualifications - Domain & Tools

  • Experience with product discovery techniques, design sprint facilitation, and user research methodologies.

  • Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern analytics stacks, CI/CD tooling, and API-driven architectures.

  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms, ML/AI prototyping tools, or automation/orchestration technologies is a plus.

  • Prior experience managing vendor pilots, proof-of-concept engagements, and evaluating third-party technology providers.

  • Understanding of accessibility standards, information security, and privacy frameworks relevant to prototyping and product development.

  • Certifications or training in UX research, design thinking, Lean Startup, or experimentation methodologies are advantageous.

Work Environment & Compensation
  • Full-time role within a collaborative, cross-functional team; onsite presence is expected with flexible scheduling options as appropriate.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience, including health coverage, retirement plan options, paid time off, and professional development support.

  • Opportunities for training, certifications, and career progression in an inclusive and mission-driven organization.

  • We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and foster a respectful work environment that supports work-life balance and employee well-being.
