JOB DESCRIPTION
We are on the hunt for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Digital Marketing Broadcaster to distribute our various marketing messages across multiple platforms and take our email marketing campaigns to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing email marketing content to drive revenue and engagement.
Email marketing is a primary source of marketing inventory and revenue for our publishing brands. The Broadcaster candidate will upload and deploy email marketing campaigns, SMS messages, and website advertisements to promote products or services and will ensure that marketing messages are delivered properly to prospects, using a variety of softwares including, but not limited to One Click Trading, Optimizely, Keap (InfusionSoft), Mobile Text Alerts, and One Signal.
WARNING: This role is not for everybody... And this industry is definitely not for everybody.
Financial publishing is one of those industries you either love or you hate. If you’re somewhere in the middle, you usually don’t last long.
The Digital Marketing Broadcaster position is the perfect entry-level marketing role at FinMC and in financial publishing as a whole.
You’ll see everything we do behind the marketing we send to our customers and followers… Every email. Every text message. Every website ad. You’ll get a firsthand look at how we craft marketing campaigns and sell our stock trading programs and tools.
But let’s be clear: This role is for someone who is hungry. Someone who wants to work hard, impress the people around them, and be ready when the opportunity arises to step into something bigger.
Many of our current team members started in this exact position. Within 1-2 years, they earned promotions into higher-level roles with greater responsibility and compensation.
Our company is growing steadily, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us over the coming years.
This is NOT a role for someone who:
- Needs constant direction once trained
- Gets overwhelmed in a fast-paced environment
- Struggles when plans change quickly
- Prefers rigid structure over adaptability
Financial publishing moves fast, very fast. Markets change… marketing campaigns pivot... and deadlines shift. To be successful in this role (and on this team), you must be flexible and able to think on your feet.
This role is for someone who:
- Learns quickly
- Takes constructive criticism well
- Works ahead instead of reacting behind
- Doesn’t need their hand held
- Wants to build a 5-15 year career, not just take a job
We are looking for long-term growth, not short-term help…
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is execution-heavy. It requires focus, attention to detail, and consistency.
Accuracy matters. One wrong link, one wrong list, or one wrong time can impact revenue.
We aim to stay ahead as much as possible on scheduling out messaging, but it doesn't always play out that way day-to-day; things will often come in or change last minute based on a number of factors. So, if you're able to work a day ahead (or even a few days in some cases), that’s even better.
Email marketing execution responsibilities include:
- Sending 200 to 250 emails per week… Which averages to 40 to 50 emails per day working Monday through Friday.
- Follow a structured send schedule.
- When an email is written inside a Google document, your job is to:
- Build the email inside Optimizely (our email service provider)
- Add the correct copy, images, and hyperlinks
- Format it properly
- Test the email thoroughly (links, subject lines, copy, etc.)
- Select the correct recipient list or segment
- Schedule it for the correct date and time
SMS marketing execution responsibilities include:
You will be responsible for sending 105 to 140 text messages per week… Which averages to 15 to 20 texts per day working Monday through Friday.
Texts are shorter, but mistakes are just as costly… So every text message must be clean, accurate, and on time.
- Just like emails, you will follow a structured SMS send schedule.
- When a SMS message is written on the schedule, your job is to:
- Input the message into Twilio (our SMS platform)
- Add the correct copy and link
- Test the SMS send
- Select the correct SMS list and send from number
- Schedule it for the correct date and time
General responsibilities include:
- Daily execution of editorial and marketing emails, SMS sends and push notifications (does not need to write the copy; will facilitate the execution (broadcasting) of the content through various platforms)
- Following best practices to assist the data analytics team to track key performance indicators
- Cross-collaborate with internal teams to provide recommendations for email campaign optimization
- Utilize email list segmentation to properly deliver personalized messaging to appropriate audience (as directed by Inventory Administrator and/or Associate Publisher)
- Conduct A/B split tests to optimize email performance and implement tactics to enhance engagement
- Analyze campaign results and make data-driven recommendations for improvement (in conjunction with marketing team)
- Be hyper responsive to internal teams regarding time-sensitive messages that need to be broadcasted immediately
- Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, syntax and spelling; quality assurance checks on all outbound messages
- Ensure compliance with email marketing laws and regulations.
- Review all outbound messages (“sends”) to ensure all formatting requirements are met (form, footer, template, sender name profile, brand, mobile responsiveness, etc.)
- Update email templates using graphics, personalization, and advanced features
NON-NEGOTIABLE EXPECTATIONS
This role requires discipline, ownership, and maturity. The expectations below are not optional.
Availability & Communication
- You must be present and available between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern.
- We operate on Slack. You are expected to be a quick responder to the team. If you regularly take 15+ minutes to respond during work hours, this role will not work for you.
- Speed matters. Communication matters. Revenue depends on it.
Staying Ahead of the Schedule
- This is a salaried role, and your core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern… But because we send emails out over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday, yet we normally work Monday through Friday), you are expected to work ahead.
- By Thursday, you should be:
- Scheduling most of Friday’s sends
- Starting on Saturday’s sends
- By Friday, you should be:
- Scheduling the remainder of Saturday
- Scheduling Sunday
- Scheduling Monday morning
- It is your sole responsibility to have the entire weekend scheduled out before logging off on Friday for the weekend, as every send impacts revenue.
- We don’t skip sends or forget to schedule them, so if your weekend is not scheduled up by 5 p.m. Eastern on Friday, you will need to stay working longer to ensure everything is done.
- Note: If you work ahead throughout the week, this situation will rarely ever happen.
Character & Integrity
- You must be honest. Everything in this role is visible to other team members. If you make a mistake, own it. If you fall behind, say it. If you try to hide something, it will be discovered.
- We are looking for someone who is:
- Honest
- Loyal
- Dependable
- Responsive
- Self-motivated
- Hungry to outwork everyone around them
NOTE: We reward performance and ownership with growth opportunities into new roles, with higher pay.
Work Style & Mindset
This role is repetitive in tasks, so you must be comfortable with repeating the same tasks every day. Monday through Friday, you are scheduling emails and texts in chronological order… The content in those changes, but the tasks of the actual role do not.
- You must:
- Thrive in structure and routine
- Take constructive criticism without ego
- Don’t take things personal
- Learn from mistakes and improve quickly
- Work without needing constant supervision
- Within 3 to 6 months, we should be able to fully trust you to manage your schedule and execute everything on your list without being hand-held.
Adaptability & Team Culture
We need someone who moves quickly and adapts even faster.
We are a small team. Things change. Opportunities pop up. New initiatives appear without much notice. When they do, we need someone who is ready to step up and help.
This is not a “stay in your lane only” role… You must be:
- Quick to pivot
- Quick to volunteer
- Quick to support the team when needed
Sometimes that means helping on a project outside your daily schedule. Sometimes that means adjusting priorities on the fly.
Our team is filled with rock stars who are team players… We protect our culture fiercely. One person who is negative, slow to adapt, or unwilling to help can impact the entire group in a negative way.
We cannot accept that.
We are looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative
- Brings positive energy
- Adds to the culture, not drains it
- Wants to win as a team, not just individually
If you thrive in high-performance environments surrounded by driven people, you will love it here.
If you prefer comfort, predictability, and staying in a narrow box, this will not be the right fit.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced and constantly changing environment
- Flexibility to adapt to marketing pivots and change of priorities
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills utilizing a solution-driven mentality
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to maintain a revenue-oriented and customer-obsessed focus
- Creative thinker who can ideate and experiment with new approaches to content marketing.
- Must be able to work independently in a remote environment, especially to self-check work and troubleshoot any issues
- Proficiency in email marketing platforms, SMS campaigns, and webinar coordination tools a plus (not required)
- Knowledge of finance, trading and direct response publishing a plus (not required)
- Proficiency in marketing automation technology a plus (not required)
- Software experience a plus including Slack, Google Workspace, Optimizely, InfusionSoft, Mobile Text Alerts, and PX for link creation, etc (not required)
