Job Summary

The Marketplace Specialist will support strategic marketplace operations and revenue growth across all platforms through advanced optimization, data-driven merchandising, and cross-channel coordination. This role will manage end-to-end marketplace performance including product optimization, advertising campaigns, inventory coordination, and competitive positioning to maximize sales and market share in today's dynamic eCommerce ecosystem

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily product listing optimization and maintenance including updating product titles, descriptions, bullet points, keywords, images, A+ content, and competitive pricing adjustments to improve search visibility and conversion rates across Amazon, Walmart, Target+, and other marketplace platforms
  • Manage marketplace advertising campaigns and promotional execution including creating sponsored product ads, setting up lightning deals, configuring coupons, monitoring bid strategies, and executing seasonal promotions within approved budget parameters and performance targets
  • Coordinate inventory management and stock level monitoring working with Supply Chain team to track inventory levels, update stock quantities, manage backorders, communicate stock alerts, and ensure optimal availability across all marketplace channels
  • Create and manage marketplace content and storefront maintenance including product images, lifestyle photos, seasonal banners, homepage layouts, brand stores, and promotional materials that align with brand standards and drive customer engagement
  • Handle daily platform communications, issue resolution, and account maintenance responding to marketplace notifications, resolving listing suppression issues, managing customer questions, coordinating with platform support teams, and ensuring optimal account health across all platforms
  • Monitor daily performance metrics and generate operational reports tracking sales performance, conversion rates, traffic data, advertising spend, inventory turnover, and identifying trends and optimization opportunities for management review and strategic planning
  • Coordinate with vendors and marketplace representatives scheduling meetings, executing promotional opportunities, submitting advertising campaigns for approval, managing day-to-day communication, and maximizing co-op advertising and placement benefits
  • Support cross-functional teams with marketplace data and tactical execution providing order processing teams with fulfillment information, updating IT on platform changes, coordinating with customer service on marketplace policies, and ensuring seamless operational workflow
  • Conduct regular marketplace audits and competitive analysis reviewing product listings for accuracy, checking policy compliance, monitoring competitor pricing and promotions, managing reviews and ratings, and researching new marketplace opportunities and best practices
  • Execute promotional calendar coordination and campaign setup managing seasonal campaigns, product launches, clearance events, special offers, and ensuring proper tracking, performance measurement, and cross-platform promotional alignment
  • Perform any other marketing related duties and responsibilities as assigned by leader
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field with 3+ years of hands-on eCommerce or Marketplace experience with direct platform management
  • Experience with daily marketplace operations including listing management, advertising, and inventory coordination
  • Proficiency in marketplace platforms (Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Connect, Target Partner Online, eBay, etc.)
  • Experience with marketplace advertising tools and campaign management
  • Strong Excel skills including data analysis, reporting, and inventory tracking
  • Familiarity with product information management and inventory systems
  • Basic understanding of SEO, keyword optimization, and digital marketing principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with ability to manage product data, pricing updates, and content creation without errors
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for handling multiple marketplace accounts, deadlines, and daily operational tasks
  • Effective communication abilities for vendor coordination, internal collaboration, and issue resolution
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data and identify optimization opportunities
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting platform issues and process improvements
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
