DIGITAL MEDIA CONTENT ADMINISTATOR

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Create, manage, and publish digital content across JSO’s social media platforms, website, and other communication channels
  • Deliver timely and accurate public safety information during routine operations and critical incidents
  • Support crisis communication efforts and rapid response messaging
  • Collaborate with Police, Corrections, and other JSO units to identify, develop, and amplify impactful stories and messaging
  • Coordinate joint communications with public safety agencies and community partners
  • Maintain and update JSO’s news webpage and digital platforms
  • Develop and execute social media and digital outreach strategies aligned with the agency’s mission
  • Support recruiting and community engagement initiatives through strategic digital storytelling
  • Monitor, moderate, and respond to public inquiries and comments in accordance with agency policy
  • Analyze digital performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform strategy
  • Ensure all content complies with ADA standards, public records laws, agency policy, established approval workflows, and brand guidelines
  • Produce graphics, photography, and video content for digital distribution
  • Assist in producing and publishing the Sheriff’s podcast
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support media relations and time-sensitive communications
Open Requirements/Supplemental Information:
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in social media management and digital content production
  • Proficiency in industry-standard photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, CapCut)
  • Strong working knowledge of major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, Nextdoor, and TikTok
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and professionally
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Strong collaboration skills across internal units and external partners
  • Experience interpreting digital analytics and performance data
  • Understanding of law enforcement operations, policies, public records requirements, and public information practices
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in high-visibility and high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to work after hours, respond during critical incidents, and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Position is on-site and not eligible for remote work
